Following the recent report that a 21 year old rough sleeper in Brighton and Hove has sadly been found dead, the housing and homelessness establishment have responded. Andy Winter the Chief Exec at the Brighton Housing Trust wrote today:
I first came across Callum last May when I was living in Percival Terrace, which is unsupported emergency accomodation, I remember seeing him outside with residents who were not the type he should’ve been hanging around with.
The whole situation has had such a negative affect on both me and my family so far and I feel like we are now in crisis and am desperate for any support you may be able to offer. Shelter’s media team and the Local government Ombudsman are currently investigating my complaint but are unable to assist with any new incidents or further offers of accomodation.
Today I live day by day, I am now living in Temporary Accommodation and fight daily to improve peoples lives, I am not fully recovered, but I am educated and I can tell you now that the only solution for a better future is for people like you reading this blog post now to stand up, speak out and help to chance our society.
Some Inspirational messages received, update on my eviction and ETHRAG and the improvements ahead at Percival Terrace.
