Tommy Robinson ex EDL organised event in Manchester. The Left in Brighton and Hove Organise there own […]
With a Labour Government all the people who have approached me with there heart breaking stories will be rewarded with a leader and Prime Minister who listened, we will finally start to build council housing again.
Let me know what you think about these housing polices, will these policies make a difference to your lives?
Are you one of the 10,000 people who have recently been taken off the council housing waiting list?
If so let me know your thoughts and as always please share.
Bobby needs, deserves and has a right to accommodation that is suited to the challenges he faces.
Hove CLP AGM 2017, Cancelled. Why? Hmm
Having spent all afternoon and morning in the housing department at Brighton and Hove City Council, I now have a wider awareness on the impact these revenge evictions are having on the council frontline staff, whose hands are sadly tied.
I have taken this blog down.
I was in the middle of a manic episode when I wrote it and I am being treated to overcome this illness.
I should not have written it and I am sorry.
One member One Vote Gone! Sad Day for Democracy.
As a born and bred brightonian, I have been encouraged by the new members joining Labour, in my observations most of the arguments from the last year have been from the same voices making the same points, new members bring new ideas and energy, we don’t live in the labour bubble like most around the table tonight.
It starts on the 24th September, in Liverpool the home of the exonerated, a city of dreams.
I was welcomed to the rally by 1200 supporters inside and 500 outside, the event was exciting, positive and fun, smiles all around and a great atmosphere. Poppy Burt a single mother and activist spoke first, the wind and weather was not great, Poppy was going to cut her speech short before Jeremy insisted she finished what she had started, another testament of how he likes to listen.
But spirits were good, as I got there I was shocked to see all the members old and new queuing, we have one of the largest CLP’s in the country in terms of membership numbers, 6000 in the Brighton and Hove area alone. People simply wanted to come out and exercise their right to vote, in total we think there were 700 or so that arrived.
I am determined that people should hold our Councillors, MP’s, Civil Servants and Corporate Business to account, people should decide when and how things change and the politicians should do whatever they can to represent the needs of the people.
My thoughts on why we should be engaging our grandparents and parents to fightback against austerity and help us have a secure future.
